Poetry in this Issue

Each of the poems above is accompanied by an audio version. Most of the poems are read by the poets themselves, but a few have been recorded for Wordgathering by readers Amelia Cotter, Sean Mahoney and Kristen Milosh.

In addition to the poems above two of the essays in this issue contain poetry. The first is a sample of the work of one of the earliest Deaf American poets, Laura Redden in Karen Christie's essay. The other is the essay on the Disability Literature Consortium reading, which contains sample poems from the poets who will be present and reading for that event including Susanne Antonetta, Jennifer Bartlett, Jeannine Hall Gailey, Cade Leebron, Raymond Luczak, and Dora Raymaker.
