Play Excerpts in this IssueA new feature in this issue Wordgathering is the inclusion two excerpts from plays :
Both writers are poets as well as playwrights, a featured shared also with South Africa's Kobus Moolman who is interviewed in this issue. Kahn's play was recently the subject of a staged reading by the Amaryllis Theater Company at Philadelphia's Arts and Disability Festival. Pixley's work has been produced at the University of Redlands under the direction of Victoria Ann Lewis of the Mark Taper Forum, one of the nations foremost advocates for disability drama. The excerpt here is from a poem cycle performance piece. While Wordgathering can not offer to publish entire plays, we are interested in receiving work from playwrights that provides opportunities for actors with disabilities. Writers interested in sending plays should inquire at comments@wordgathering.com about where books should be sent for review. Return to Top |
