A Journal of Disability Poetry and Literature

Volume 10     Issue 2     June 2016

Poetry in this Issue

As in previous issues, each of the poems above is accompanied by an audio for the above poems. Unless otherwise indicated the poems are read by the poets themselves. Others are read by Wordgathering staff readers Sean Mahoney, Jill Khoury and Melissa Cotter.

The Reading Loop in this issue is dedicated to referential poetry by writers with disabilities so in addition to the poems above readers will find much more poetry in that feature. This includes work by some of disability poetry's most accomplished writers incuding Jim Ferris, Kathi Wolfe, Lisa Gill, Hal Sirowitz, Stephen Kuusisto, Des Kenny, Ana Garza G'z, and Andrea Nicki.

Finally, the Essay section contains two pieces that should be of particular interest to poets. The first is a tribute to the writing of Linda Cronin, long time member of the Breath and Shadow editorial staff and, more recently, a poetry editor with Wordgathering. The second piece presents poems from a unique project in process by poet Liz Whiteacre in which she re-interprets interviews and comments of college students with disabilities in poetic form.
