Wordgathering

A Journal of Disability Poetry and Literature

Interviews Index

Interviews are always a favorite feature of Wordgathering and this issue provides three very different one. In our first and most conventional interview Australian writer and deaf culture advocate discusses his two most recent books, Deafness Down and Deafness Gains. The second interview takes readers to the Inglis House computer labs where Dawn Waller, the director of Adapted Technology, gives a tour pointing out of the ways that computers are adjusted for wheelchair users and the cutting edge programs and techniques being developed there. The third interview gathers together four poets who have written about disabilities – Linda Benninghoff, nancy viva davis halifax, Annalee Johnson-Kwochka and Andrea Nicki – to discuss Nicki's essay on psychological disability poetry in a wide-ranging conversation.

Interviews are an enjoyable way to learn about the many people involved in disability literature and art. If you know of someone that you would like to interview for Wordgathering, please contact the editors at comments@wordgathering.com.
