Wordgathering

A Journal of Disability Poetry

Volume 3     Issue 3     September 2009

Book Reviews

This issue of Wordgathering may offer the most unlikley trio of disability books reviewed this year. In keeping with our commentment to introduce readers to at least one deserving book of poetry each issue, we take a close look at Anne Kaier's small gem In Fire. At the other end of the spectrum, is Eyes of Desire 2: A Deaf GLBT Readeran anthology edited by Raymond Luczak that fairly seethes with multitudinous voices. Finally, we are taking a look at the maiden novel of Irie Parker, Twisted Consequences a rare attempt in the literary world at making a quadriplegic man the protagonist of an action novel. All three give the unitiated a taste of what disability literature has to offer
