Listen to “Driftwood Sunburn”
Genre: Rock
Holes in my socks
And my jeans are stained,
Wandering city streets,
I’m a man insane.
My hair is a rat’s nest,
I’m against the grain,
There’s a look in my eye,
It stems from my pain.
Life has made a turn,
And taken me for a ride,
Like driftwood sunburn
Being taken with the tide.
I carry what I own,
And try to sustain,
Can’t sleep ‘cause it’s cold,
Comfort you can’t feign.
The company I keep,
Is what I maintain.
It looks like I’m alone,
In the windowpane.
Someday I will rise,
And sanity will abide,
Like driftwood sunburn
Burning warm and bright
All night.
