WordgatheringA Journal of Disability Poetry and Literature Volume 11 Issue 4 December 2017 |

Poetry in this IssueThis issue of Wordgathering offers work from poets that our readers have encountered in this journal before (René Harrison, Nancy Scott, Anne Wallace) as well poets appearing for the first time: Janelle Eckardt, Jane Joritz-Nakagawa, Sari Krosinsky, Gregory Luce, Becca Mennon and Christine Stewart-Nuñez. In addition to these, we are also pleased to be able to present four poems translated from German by William Ruleman. Ruleman has chosen poems from Rainer Maria Rilke, Paul Boldt and Alfons Petzold that center around representations of people who are blind. By making these available, he gives to readers who are not fluent in German the chance to examine the images that these poets had of disability.
As in previous issues, each of the poems above is accompanied by an audio version. Most of the poems are read by the poets themselves, but a few have been recorded by Wordgathering reader Melissa Cotter. Return to Top |
