Essays in this Issue

In an effort to encourage dialogue about disability poetry, Wordgathering continues its selection of literary essays. In this issue you will find:

• Yvette Green, Our Film Project
• Petra Kuppers, Crip Sheet for 'Latin Does Not Have a Word for Symmetry'

One of the exciting things that these two essays do is to make connections with between themselves and other writers with disabilities. Kuppers' essay is a playful explication of one of Jim Ferris' poems while Yvette Greene's narrative essay follows the fate of Stuart Sanderson's poem "A Mixed Blessing" into another medium. Readers with an interest in essays and writing may also want to look at the book review of Cynthia Leweicki-Wilson and Brenda Brueggemann's collection of essays collection of essays, Disability and the Teaching of Writing in this issue.
