Divided Mind
Ink on Repurposed Canvas, 2021. Abstract depicting division between the structured, logic of the Left v. emotive/organic Right brain. Vein-like bold, black lines divide the white canvas at 2:50 o’clock angles. The upper portion contains primitive ink drawings of stacked, transparent cubes, a pocket-watch on chain attached to the letter “c” at the end of “E=mc2. Lines growing into this section resemble branches with leaves. The lower portion’s line s resemble veins which are inter-connected to numerous, circles resembling variegated, red corpuscles.

Fragile

With The Artist’s 2018 MH hospitalization, came a re-framing of their familial reputation of “fragile” (easily broken/hands off), to mean “precious” and “worthy of care.” A high-contrast Black and White image shows 18 clear glass goblets stationed at-the-ready on 3 tiers of various levels reflecting the light and contrasted by black background.
