Interviews – March 2020

Wordgathering Editor-in-Chief, Diane R. Wiener, interviewed Mallory Kay Nelson on a cold February evening in Liverpool, NY, to discuss Mallory’s recent role in the National Disability Theater’s (NDT) 2020 Performance Outreach Program (POP) Tour in collaboration with the La Jolla Playhouse. In addition to exploring Mallory’s understandings of and commitments to #cripspace, Mallory and Diane talked together about some of Mallory’s own disability biography and how her experiences led to and continue to influence her role as a costume designer and advocate.

The La Jolla Play House and National Disability Theater’s 2020 production, Emily Driver’s Great Race through Time and Space was written by A. A. Brenner and Gregg Mozgala and directed by Talleri A. McRae and Mickey Rowe.
