She uses metaphors we knew yesterday.

The words
Things she cannot discuss-
Tools not at her disposal

She wads another paper and tosses it on the floor.

There is an animal inside her
Sticking its teeth out.
It wants to be fed.

Born legally blind, Marianne Michele Meece is blessed with a wonderful husband and two beautiful girls. Growing up a competitive gymnast, she was named Texas State Champion in Balance Beam. Marianne has a BA in English. Though this is her first published poem, she plans on many more to follow.
