Michael P. Amram
PROS AND CONS OF PUBLISHING
say it! say it!
tell me straight,
words to publish
and conjugate
in a pattern so
a reader may not
put me down right
away because I'm not
renowned and my
life won't translate
to universal minds
tell me! tell me!
my magnetic
editor, my
enigmatic matador,
my kinetic philosopher,
tell me I am not
Stephen King
or Hemingway,
even J.K. Rowlings,
enlighten me on how
to crack some code,
a chosen sieve of
philanthropy and I'll
learn the right simile,
say that I touch no one
and I'm an urn of writing
in a dark ocean of
literary despair, tell me
that the world is unfair…
