Mark Thomas

TILES

He sits sullen , silent
never smiles
Yet he sees abstract shapes, and figures
in the marble patterns of the
bathroom tiles
And with his mindbrush
tracing the imagery
unobserved by you and me.
In this, his own
Tate Gallery.
Journeys of Imagination in his thoughts
through patination on the walls
Solace through silence
comfort from contour
sculptured sympathy
with shapes no one else
can see.

Mark Thomas was born in 1954 and have been writing poetry since the age of 12 years. Most of his poetry is drawn from direct experience with the subject he writes about. He currently works as a co-ordinator in a Special Needs Community. Thomas lives in Angus, Scotland.
